Is this site run by Character.AI?
No. It is an independent guide published by Rochat. We are not affiliated with Character.AI, and we only link to its official announcements and help pages.
Is Character.AI shutting down?
Not as of Oct 14, 2026. The company says the platform remains available during the sale process and that it will be wound down only if no buyer continues it. We track official updates on the status page.
Do you need my Character.AI login?
Never. Everything here works from text and files you save yourself. Don’t share your password with any site or browser extension that asks for it.
Can I bring characters other people made?
Only bring characters you created yourself. Characters made by other people belong to their creators, and many are based on characters owned by studios and publishers.
Is Rochat the same as Character.AI?
No. Rochat is a separate app for adults (18+), with its own features, models and limits. There is a free tier.
