Character card converter

Open a character card to read what’s inside, convert it, or copy it into Rochat field by field. Works with PNG and JSON cards in the Tavern V1, V2 and V3 formats, and Pygmalion JSON. Nothing is uploaded.

What it does

• Reads the character data embedded in a PNG card, or a JSON card file.
• Converts to a Character Card V2 PNG (keeping the original picture), V2 JSON or a readable text file.
• Copies into Rochat: each part is mapped to a field in Rochat’s character creator, with {{char}} and {{user}} converted to {char} and {user}. Personality is added to the description.
• Edit in the saver sends the card to the character saver so you can change it and download it again.

Good to know

• Only use characters you created or have permission to use.
• Images shared on social media or messaging apps are often re-compressed, which strips the character data. Use the original file.
• Don’t have a card yet? If you made characters on Character.AI, copy their definitions into the character saver first.
